LO5 Finished collecetion

As I watch the world go by.
This will be displayed on a matte canvas. The size will be 40x40. Also there would be no frame. It would cost around £23.73. The purpose of this photograph is to connote the fact that life goes on even though everyday people are suffering. Also that he blend into the background which is not right. I want this photograph to make people notice and appreciate the homeless more.

Endless journey
This will be projected on the floor in a studio. The size will be A0 I want it to be big so that people would walk in front of it. This photo fits in with the theme because it denotes a homeless man's feet and how rough and dirty they get with no shoes on. This connotes that they have walked a lot and they are in pain. Also it connotes that regardless of money we all need our feet to get around. It conntes that homeless people walk away from their problems. A projectors would cost aound £440.80.

Do you see me?
This will be displayed on a matte canvas. The size will be 40x40. Also there would be no frame. It would cost around £23.73. This photo fits with the theme because it is a homeless person sat down. it connotes that the only things people know about homeless people is by the facts and figures that surround them.  Also I wanted to connote  homeless people blend into the background of normal life, and that most people choose to blend them into the background in their mind so they feel less bad for just walking past them.

Without money we'd all be rich
This will be displayed on a gloss canvas. The size will be 40x40. Also there would be no frame. It would cost around £23.73. This photo also fits in the theme because it is a homeless person holding money. This connotes that money means a lot for the homeless and their world revolves around the money. Also the angle connotes that they are at the bottom of society and that people look down on them.

My dream was the same as yours.
This will be displayed on a matte canvas. The size will be 40x40. Also there would be no frame. It would cost around £23.73. I wanted this photo to connote that everybody has unrealistic dreams as a child and that they will usually never happen. This is very stereotypical because homeless people have cardboard signs to ask for money. So I wanted to challenge the stereotype. I wanted to have inspirational words juxtapose with the background.

Editing evidence LO4

The tools I used to edit was the burn tool, the pen tool and the quick selection brush. The burn tool made the feet look rougher. I used the pen tool to make teh letters look bolder. Then I used to quick selection brush to make the coins and the moss stand out in the coins photogragh.

Adobe Bridge task LO3/ LO4

Adobe bridge is used  for organising photos. If you haven taken 100 photos you can go though each photo you can use bridges star ranking system. This system allows people to get rid of the bad photos and keep a reminder of the best photos you took. For equipment I used a Canon 650D and a tripod. These were helpful to get the effect I desired.  For setting up the equipment I but the tripod on the ground and but on the camera. I made the tripod very small so the camera was at the homeless man's eye level. This went well but I wished I would have framed the picture a bit better so the man was directly in the middle. I feel this would have made the picture better.

This photograph fits in with my theme because it denotes a homeless man sat down. The fact that his head is down connotes that he is sad. The photograph is usable because it fits in with the theme. I made it so he is in quite a colourful place and his black clothes juxtapose with the scenery. This connotes that the world is a beautiful place but people look at homeless people as the trash of the world. So I wanted to connote that homeless people are part of that beauty. Also it is landscape to denotes what I want to connote about the beauty within homeless people. The deep depth of field makes the man blend in with the nature and helps what I'm trying to connote. The angle is at eye level to connote that people shouldn't look down on the homeless and we should treat them as equals. In terms of the rule of thirds the scaffolding he is sat on is on the focal point and he is directly in the middle this is why your eyes intimately drawn to him. A strength of this photo is the fact that he is in the middle. However one improvement I would've done would have been do put the camera slightly lower.
I used a standard lens because it created the effect I wanted it to. The aperture is f/22.0, this is because it was getting dark so I needed to let in more light. Also I wanted the picture to have a deep depth of field. To connote that the homeless person is part of the nature and the surrounding beauty. I put the shutter speed at 1/8 to capture the motion.
In editing I want to Photoshop in people walking past to connote that busy life still runs normally even though there are people that don't have food and shelter living on the streets. I want it connote the coldness of some people that don't feel sympathy for the homeless.

This photo fits in with the theme because it shows how dirty homeless peoples feet get walking around with no shoes. This photograph is not usable because the bricks in the background denote a house, this doesn't fit with the theme.
The photograph is landscape to denote that the person is laying down. This connotes that they are asleep, tired and have been walking for a long time. It is at a low angle so the audience can get a clear view of the feet. The foreground is clearly the feet and the background is the floor and the surrounding wall. The photo has a shallow depth of field this is to connote that all the pressure is on their feet. Also it connotes that regardless of money we all need our feet.
In terms of the rule of thirds the feet take up most of the photograph so they are on the focal point. Although the bottom foot is exactly on the bottom focal point. The strengths are that the feet are in focus and it is composed well. For an improvement I would have made the aperture smaller so that less light came in. This is because I think the photograph is possibly a bit too light. Also I would've liked the feet to be a bit dirtier but that can be fixed in Photoshop.
The aperture is f/4.0 because this is the default setting and instead of using the manual focus I should have changed the aperture to f/2.8 because this would have given it a shallow depth of field. But the default setting still achieved the photograph I wanted. The shutter speed is also the default setting 1/50. I chose to keep it because there was no motion to capture so there was no need to change it. The lens I used was a standard lens because it created the effect I desired.
For editing I will possibly try to edit the feet and make them look a little bit dirtier but not too much because I want them to look as natural as possible.

This photo fits in with the theme because it shows how dirty homeless peoples feet get walking around with no shoes. This photograph is not usable because the leaf on the left hand corner is covering the foot.

I feel this is a good picture and it represents my theme well. It is also usable because it has enough background for me to edit the fact in, also it is all in focus which is what I wanted. But I though that the other picture was better because in the other photograph his head is straight and he has a better facial expression. It denotes a homeless man sat down and his face connotes sadness and worry. These are common problems that homeless people go though so I think I have captured those emotions. I wanted the photograph to connote loneness this is why the photo is landscape and the background is a blank wall. I wanted the photo to be deep depth of field to connote the fact that homeless people blend into the background of normal life, and that most people choose to blend them into the background in their mind so they feel less bad for just walking past them.
In the rule of thirds his knees are in the lower focal. This makes him the main focus because he is near enough directly in the middle of the shot. I used the black wall as a frame for the photo. This was mainly because this was where the, man was sitting when I found him but I think it could connote how he feels. An improvement I would have would be to make the photograph look less at a canted angle, the bricks at the side denote that the photo is canted but in real life the bricks are naturally a bit lop sided.
The aperture is f/5.0, because the default setting achieved the picture I wanted to so there was no need to change it. Because I didn't want to capture any movement in this picture I left the shutter speed at the default 1/60, but it complimented the aperture size well. The lens was just a standard lens because that was the right lens for getting the effect I wanted.
For editing this picture I will put in facts about homeless people in the UK around the man. This will connote that all the things that people know about these homeless people is the facts and figures that relate to them. Also to connote that the homeless people are more than just numbers that they all have individual personality's.

The aperture is f/32.0, this is because it was a very sunny day so the camera needed to let in less light, so the photograph wasn't so bright. Also I wanted all of the photo to have a deep depth of field, this is why it is such a high aperture. Because I didn't want to capture any movement in this picture I left the shutter speed at the default 1/30, but it complimented the aperture size well. The lens was just a standard lens because that was the right lens for getting the effect I wanted.

This will connote that all the things that people know about these homeless people is the facts and figures that relate to them. Also to connote that the homeless people are more than just numbers that they all have individual personality's.

This photo shows my theme of homeless people because it is a homeless person holing a cup asking for change. Also it is usable because the change it the main focus. But I thought the other photograph was better because his hat connotes homelessness.
The shot is landscape, I did this because I wanted it to denote the dirty ground and this would connote the bad living standards. The photograph is deep depth of field this also to connote the fact that homeless people fade into the background. The angle denotes a high angle. This connotes that they are at the bottom of society and that people look down on them. It also somewhat denotes how people see the homeless. The framing of the photograph is the floor. Because most of the photograph is the ground, it connotes that the ground is their home and the place they are most of the time. One of the things that I would've improved is that the man isn't quite central in the photograph so I would've stood a little further to the left, in order to get him directly in the middle. The strength is that it really conveys the idea that I wanted to show. In terms of the rule of thirds, both his shoulders are on the focal point this means that he is where your eyes are drawn to.
The aperture is f/5.6 because this is the default setting and I didn't want a shallow depth of field. the default setting helped achieved what I wanted so I didn't feel the need to change it. The shutter speed is also the default setting 1/50. I chose to keep it because there was no motion to capture so there was no need to change it. The lens I used was a standard lens because it created the effect I desired.
For editing I want it to denote the whole background in black and white and have the change in colour. But I may bring out some of the colour from the moss to challenge the stereotypes that it is dark and unhappy for all homeless people. The change being in colour would connote that getting money for homeless people main focus and that is what keeps their life going.

This photo fits in with the theme because it shows how dirty homeless peoples feet get walking around with no shoes. It is usable because the feet are in focus and the shallow depth of field I wanted has been achieved. The photograph is landscape to denote that the person is laying down. This connotes that they are asleep, tired and have been walking for a long time. It is at a low angle so the audience can get a clear view of the feet. This photograph fits in with my theme because it denotes a homeless man holding a cardboard sign. This is very stereotypical because homeless people have cardboard signs to ask for money. It is usable because the homeless person is looking into the camera. This connotes a need for help. This shot type is a slight high angle. Someone looking up connotes aspirations and hope.  The photo is landscape, again to connote that homeless people usually blend in with the background to most people and don't stand out. That is the same reason the photograph is deep depth of field. The framing for the photograph is the black wall. This connotes the usual background that homeless people are in.
In terms of the rule of thirds the man is in the centre of the focal point. To improve this photo I would have taken the photo closer to the man so the sign is clearly readable. Although one of the strengths is his positioning because he is directly in the centre of the photograph. This connotes that he is important and he should be noticed.
On the day this photograph was taken it was quite dark outside so I turned the aperture down slightly so more light would be let in and make the photo lighter. The shutter speed is the default setting 1/30. I chose to keep it because there was no motion to capture so there was no need to change it. The lens I used was a standard lens because it created the effect I desired.
In editing I will have to slightly colour the words ' a footballer' because they are quite faint and I want them to stand out more. That fits in with the idea of a dream of when you were younger. The photograph denotes a homeless man holding a sign saying what he wanted to be when he was younger. This man wanted to be a footballer. This photograph connotes the innocents that everyone is a child and that we all have somewhat unrealistic dreams for when we grow up. Also it connects with the audience because everyone had that dream. Also I will zoom in the picture so he is more noticeable and peoples eyes are immediately drawn to him. If he is a big bigger this will connote his importance.
